New headteacher announced
Our current Headteacher, Rosetta Dyer, has announced her retirement at the end of this academic year.
Mrs Dyer has been at the reins of the school for five years, and we are grateful to her for all her hard work and strong leadership.
After an extensive recruitment campaign, we are delighted to announce that Mr Iain Sutherland has been appointed as Headteacher, and will start in post on 1 September 2025.
Mr Sutherland has been appointed following a rigorous and open process, which consisted of meetings with staff, pupils, local governors, parents, an assembly as well as a presentation and interview with a panel. The panel included the Chair of the Local Governing Board, and senior members of the Bellevue Place Education Trust, which our school is now part of.
Mr Sutherland has been the Headteacher at Grimsdyke School, in Harrow, for the past 12 years. The school is graded Outstanding by Ofsted in every category, along with expanding it from two form entry to three forms entry. The school performs very well with 81% of pupils achieving the expected standards in reading, writing and maths combined.
Through the recruitment process, Mr Sutherland presented a very clear vision for the future of Dollis Primary School for the next five years and beyond. He also was very clear about how he motivates and develops staff across the school to be well prepared to deliver their role to the very best standards.
On his visits to Dollis, he was really impressed with the dedication of the pupils and staff, with the rich opportunities they receive across the school, beyond the academic rigour.
We look forward to welcoming Mr Sutherland on board!
